Officers graduate from NLCJA

Twenty-three officers from nine law enforcement agencies graduated from Class 009 of the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy with their Peace Officers Standards and Training certification in Plain Dealing Friday.

Guest speaker was the Honourable Judge Harmon Drew of Louisiana’s Second Circuit Court of Appeal.

Officers from Bastrop Police Department, Bossier City Police Department, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Haughton Police Department, Ruston Police Department, Springhill Police Department, Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office and West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office completed nearly 12 weeks of training that began on Feb. 15.

“These officers worked tirelessly over the past few months and challenged themselves physically and mentally to become certified law enforcement officers,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.  “We are extremely proud to host officers from various police departments and sheriff’s offices who will take their extensive training to their respective agencies and hit the ground running.”
