Bossier City police arrested a Shreveport woman after she attempted to steal another woman’s purse this morning outside a local business.
Alicia Marie Lister, 20, was taken into custody just moments after witnesses say she tried to snatch a purse from a 28-year-old woman outside the Kroger’s food store in the 800 block of Benton Road just before 9 a.m.
Witnesses tell police Lister approached the victim, grabbed her purse but was unable to snatch it away from her grasp. Lister then fled the scene. The victim was not injured.
Police responded to the scene and began searching the area. One of the responding officers caught up with Lister about 10 minutes later walking in the 2000 block of Scott Street and took her into custody. Lister was booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of attempted purse snatching.
