BPCC BASEBALL TEAM SWEEPS HINDS

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers swept Hinds Community College 4-3 and 4-2 in a non-conference baseball doubleheader Wednesday at BPCC.

Former Airline standout Chase Daughdrill went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for BPCC in the first game. Benton product Ross Moore hit a home run, and Josh Rodriguez had two hits.

Daughdrill and Moore had two hits each in the second game as did Jacob Stockton. Moore and Robert Staten had RBIs.

Ex-Haughton star Brendon Kelly pitched seven strong innings, allowing five hits. Miguel Garcia allowed one hit in two innings of relief.

BPCC (12-9) returns to action Saturday with a Region 14 doubleheader against Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas.

BPCC BASKETBALL TEAM FINISHES 9-18

The Bossier Parish Community College basketball team finished the season 9-18 after losing to Panola 100-96 last Saturday. BPCC finished 2-17 in Region XIV. Trayvion Johnson led BPCC against Panola with 17 points.

BPCC SOFTBALL  TEAM TAKES  TWO FROM HINDS

The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs swept Hinds (Miss.) Community College 5-0 and 11-6 Wednesday at BPCC.

Chelsea Ivy pitched a two-hitter and struck out eight in the first game. Courtney Carter went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Jhanique Mitchell and Kenya Green also had two hits each. Lacy Blanchard had a double.

Mitchell went 3-for-4 with a double in the second game. Carter and Tiffani Pledger had three hits each. Kacie Franklin went 2-for-3 with a double. Franklin, who allowed five hits and one earned run over the final five innings, was the winning pitcher.

BPCC (14-18-1), which snapped a six-game losing streak, returns to conference play Saturday with a doubleheader against Navarro in Corsicana, Texas.

HIGH SCHOOL  BOWLING RESULTS

The Bossier and Airline boys won bowling matches Thursday at Holiday Lanes. Bossier defeated Minden 22-5 and Airline downed Loyola 18-9. Parkway fell to Byrd 24-3.

Here are the individual high games and series for parish teams.
 
Parkway boys: Jamie Neely 235 (544); Alexander Davis 179; Darius Moye 169.
Bossier boys: Adam McDaniel 216 (568); Stephen Shea 203; Taylor Bean 173.
Airline boys: Brandon Mock/Tyler Harvill (581) 223; Chandler Carr 207.

BENTON DEFEATS PARKWAY IN TENNIS

Benton defeated Parkway in a tennis match Thursday at the North Bossier Tennis Center.
Christopher Bates and Collin Sanford won boys’ singles matches for Benton. Megan Fream won her match in girls’ singles.

Boys’ doubles winners for Benton were Collin Sanford and Justin Patterson and Shane Kim and Ethan Sanford. Girls’ doubles winners were Fream and Mary Lauren Slack, Molly Beth Duddy and Julia Lefort, Emily McDill and Shannon Kim, and Duddy and Kellyn Bihm.
