BPCC BASKETBALL TEAM FALLS IN HOME FINALE
The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers fell to Trinity Valley Community College 90-72 in their final home game of the season Wednesday night.
Former Bossier star Lyndale James led BPCC with 14 points. Trayvion Johnson added 13, Desmond Champion 11 and Dimitri Smith 10. Trinity Valley’s Josh Gentry hit 9 3-pointers and finished with 28 points. The Cardinals (19-10, 10-8 Region 14) made 15 3-pointers.
BPCC (9-18, 2-16 Region 14) closes out the season on the road Saturday against Panola Junior College.
BPCC BASEBALL TEAM SWEPT BY PANOLA
Panola Junior College swept a doubleheader from Bossier Parish Community College 5-4 and 9-3 Wednesday at BPCC.
In the first game, the Cavs scored two runs in the bottom of the final inning to get within one but flied out with a runner at third to end the game. Matt Martin went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Cavs. BPCC starter Jared Exline gave up 11 hits and four earned runs in 5 1-3 innings.
Former Airline star Lance Jones went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Cavs in the second game. Martin went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Benton product Ross Moore also had two hits. Zac Howell and Preston Gray had doubles.
AIRLINE JV BASEBALL TEAM SWEEPS BYRD
Airline swept Byrd 6-5 and 4-2 in a junior varsity baseball doubleheader Wednesday.
Coach Pat Mason said starter Alex Mize and reliever Tanner Daniel both pitched well in the first game. Ryan Phillips had a key bunt in last inning to set up the winning run.
Kyle Briggs pitched a complete game in the second. Mason said Daniel, Tyler Tackett, Andrew Maxey, Dylan Elliot and Peyton Coker all hit well.
Monday, Airline swept Northwood 7-1 and 14-0. Maxey had five total hits. Tackett and Daniel had multiple hits. Maxey, Chase Laurence and Josh Dailey all pitched well, Mason said.
HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING RESULTS
The Parkway boys, and the Airline, Parkway and Haughton girls notched bowling victories Thursday at Holiday Lanes. In boys’ matches, Parkway downed Minden 24.5-2.5, Bossier fell to Byrd 17-10 and Haughton lost to Loyola 23-4.
In girls’ matches, Airline defeated Benton 21-6, Parkway topped Byrd 20-7 and Haughton knocked off Loyola 24-3.
