The Bossier Bearkats advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 3A boys basketball playoffs Friday night with a 58-42 victory over Rayville in Rayville.
The No. 1 seed Bearkats (29-3) will host No. 9 Glen Oaks (20-11) Tuesday night. Glen Oaks defeated No. 25 West Feliciana 59-52 in the second round.
Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing, the No. 16 seed in Class 1A, gave top-seeded Christian Life a scare before falling 53-43 in Baton Rouge. The District 1-1A champion Lions ended their season 12-11.
New Tech was as close as three with six minutes to play.
