Parish wrestlers fare well in regionals

Seven parish wrestlers claimed titles in the Regional Championship meet Saturday at Huntington.
Benton had three champions — Jeff Lewis (132-pound class), Andre Dean (145) and Jordan White (160).
Parkway’s Alex Simmaly (112) and Jason Pitts (120) won titles. Simmaly was a repeat champion. Pitts was a runner-up last year.
Bossier’s Jalen Oliver, who was a runner-up in 2012, won the 185-pound class.
Airline’s Jaquvis Hart nipped Bossier’s Xavier Chism in the 126-pound class.
Huntington edged Byrd by one point to win the team title. Defending champion Bossier finished fourth.
