Greenacres finishes runner-up in Arby's Classic

The Greenacres Must-angs finished runner-up in the Arby’s Classic middle school boys basketball tournament Saturday night.
The Mustangs kept it close but ultimately fell to Caddo Middle Career and Technology 44-39 in the championship game at Bossier High.
Anthony Mulrenin led the Mustangs with 13 points. Harvey Calhoun and Chris Davenport scored seven each.
Calhoun hit a 3-pointer to get Greenacres within 39-38 with less than a minute left. But the Chargers stretched the lead to four with less than 30 seconds remaining.
The Mustangs had the ball down three with 14.2 seconds left but couldn’t tie it.
The Rusheon eighth-grade team lost to Evangel 31-28 in the consolation finals. Keldrick Carper led the Rams with 10 points, and Keimun Daniels had six.
The boys seventh- and eighth-grade district seasons begin today with six games.
