Greenacres advances to finals of Arby's Classic

greenacres2The Greenacres Mustangs advanced to the finals of the Arby’s Classic middle school boys basketball tournament with a 40-32 victory over St. Joseph’s Thursday night at Bossier.

The championship game is Saturday at 6 p.m. at Bossier.

Booker T. Washington faces Caddo Middle Magnet at 10 a.m. in he quarterfinals. The winner plays Calvary at 1 p.m. for the right to play Greenacres in the finals.

Chris Davenport led Greenacres against St. Joseph’s with 11 points. Anthony Mulrenin and Noah Hildebrand had 10 each.

Hildebrand scored 13 points in a 41-19 victory over Plain Dealing Wednesday. Josh James helped the Mustangs cause with 10.

Mulrenin, Chris Davenport and Harvey Calhoun combined for 14.

The Rusheon eighth-grade team advanced to the consolation finals with a 36-28 victory over Plain Dealing.

Keldrick Carper led the Rams with 15 points.

The Rusheon seventh-grade team plays Evangel in a consolation semifinal game Saturday at 2:15.
