Bossier Parish athletes  enjoyed success in the class room as well as in competitions during the fall sports season.
Four of those athletes — Parkway’s Logan Bazo (boys cross country), Haughton’s Morgan Smith (girls swimming), Benton’s Kaitlyn Bland (girls cross country) and Benton’s Matt Boggs (football) — made Academic All-State composite (all classes) teams in their respective sports.
To make a composite team, the LHSAA requires a senior student-athlete to maintain a four-year, 4.0 cumulative grade-point average.
Several student-athletes made Academic All-State in their respective classes or divisions. That requires a 3.5 average of higher.
Airline quarterback Hayden Hildebrand and Parkway defensvie lineman Antonio McGee, the MVPs on the Press-Tribune’s All-Parish team, both made the 5A Academic All-State team.
Hildebrand has a GPA of 3.8776, and McGhee has a 3.5510.
Two other All-Parish players, Airline placekicker Matt Hanisee (3.7400) and receiver Laterious Pouncy (3.6667),  also made it
