
It was night of mixed results Tuesday for Bossier Parish girls high school basketball teams.
The Haughton Lady Bucs and the Benton Lady Tigers were the only two parish teams to win.
Haughton routed North DeSoto 59-28 at Stonewall, and Benton defeated parish rival Parkway 61-37 at Benton.
Elsewhere, Airline fell to Natchitoches Central 59-36 in Natchitoches, Bossier dropped a 52-46 decision to Byrd at Bossier, and Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing fell to Arcadia 58-52 in a battle of Class 1A powers in Arcadia.
At Stonewall, Chelcy Swint had a huge game for Haughton (5-2).
She scored 23 points and grabbed a whopping 26 rebounds — 13 offensive and 13 defensive. Mikayla Barber added nine points, and Ebone’ Green had eight.
At Benton, Madi Sessions scored 23 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Lady Tigers (6-2).
Gabby Jackson added 12 points, and Destiney Wallace had 10.
Tyiesha Kidd led Parkway with 18 points, and Mikeala Kirkendoll added 10.
The Lady Panthers are still looking for their first victory over the season.
Parkway is still playing without All-Parish post player Halle Washington (knee injury), who was on the bench in street clothes Tuesday.
At Natchitoches, Airline had trouble hanging with the Lady Chiefs (10-1), one of the top teams in the state in Class 5A.
Kei McCoy topped Airline (4-7) with 17 points. Nikki Bryant scored nine.
At Bossier, Laschae Gadson scored 12 points and Abreeanna Williams had 10 in the Lady Kats’ loss to Byrd. Bossier dropped to 5-5.
At Arcadia, Dennisha Chambers scored 39 points but it wasn’t quite enough for New Tech, which fell to 5-3.
