E-mail Print PDF

BREAST CANCER GROUPThe Bossier-Webster District Attorney’s Office staff recently participated in a “Big Ole Bra Drop Off” to support Breast Cancer Research and to honor breast cancer survivors.

According to Thelma Wright, “the campaign was to promote early detection, awareness and steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.”  She further stated that “since her tenure at the DA’s office, two of her colleagues have succumbed to the disease” and this was a collective effort in their honor to bring attention to a disease that statistically strikes one of every nine women in the United States.

The bras collected state-wide on behalf of the Susan G. Komen Research to Cure Breast Cancer will be strung across the Mississippi River.
