The BPCC Concert Winds will present its Fall Concert at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 30 in the Performing Arts Theatre on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas Street, Bossier City.

The Concert Winds, under the direction of Dr. Michael D. Hart, will take the stage to perform popular selections guaranteed to bring enjoyment to audiences of all ages.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Concert Winds will perform “Marche de Parachutistes Belges” by Pierre Leemans; “Nilesdance” an aggressive and percussive composition by David R. Holsinger; “Always with Grace” an undulating variation on “Amazing Grace” by Gary P. Gilroy; “Metroplex – Three Postcards from Manhattan” a descriptive piece by Robert Sheldon; and “Dusk” by Steven Bryant.  The program will end with a double holiday encore.

“This is the second and final concert of the semester for the ensemble,” stated Dr. Michael Hart, Music Program Director and the ensemble’s conductor.  Earlier in the term, the Concert Winds presented a Fall Pops concert featuring an evening of light and popular music.  Many of the students enrolled in the ensembles are full-tuition music scholarship recipients.  Music scholarships are awarded to students who pass an audition, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and are full-time BPCC students.

The Music Program at Bossier Parish Community College will also present a Christmas Music Faculty Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6 in the Performing Arts Theatre on the BPCC campus.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The performers for the evening’s recital are Gulya Chandler, Joy Ratcliff, and Mary Cunningham, piano;  William Bond, Jr., Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, Janice Aiken, and Steve Aiken, voice; Bob Maynard, saxophone; Philip Wade, classical guitar; and Dr. Michael Hart, trumpet.

“This is the fifth year in which the BPCC Music Program has presented a faculty Christmas concert” said Dr. Michael Hart, Music Program Director.  The evening’s program will feature Christmas classics and popular holiday favorites that are known and loved by children of all ages. This Christmas Music Faculty Concert concludes the Fall 2012 Music Program Concert Series.

This recital is free and open to the public.  For more information on this concert and the Music Program at Bossier Parish Community College, call the BPCC Music Program at 678-6146.
