The Bossier Bearkats will host the Huntington Raiders Thursdsay night in the Twin City Basketball Showcase.
The event will start with something new, the Throw Back Alumni game at 6 p.m. featuring alumni from each school. Admission is $6 and doors open at 5:30.
Bossier has all five starters back from last year's Class 3A state runner-up team — Tevin Robertson, Breon Morris, Devonte Hall, Rashard Owens and Deorvion Robinson. Robertson, a 6-foot-4 center, is still playing football and will not play Thursday.
Huntington, which reached the Class 4A quarterfinals last year, has at least one basketball player still playing football — Chance Chambers.
Bossier coach Jeremiah Williams said it's a "typical Huntington team" with a tall front line that averages about 6-foot-6.
Huntington and Bossier have developed a rivalry over the past several seasons. The two teams played some memorable games in the 2010-11 season, including a Class 4A quarterfinal game before a packed house at the Centenary Gold Dome. This is the second year they will play a preseason game.
The game is allowed under the LHSAA's Hall of Fame program. The result doesn't count on either team's record. The regular season starts on Nov. 18.
