BOSSIER CITY - Shirley Rambin Loftin, 86, of Bossier City, LA, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 while surrounded by her loving family. Shirley went home to see her Lord and Savior and her loving husband, O. E. (Dick) Loftin, and other family members that she has missed so much. She was a faithful member of the Koran Baptist Church in Haughton, LA for many years.
Shirley was born in Red River Parish on March 14, 1926 and resided in Shreveport for many years before moving to New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, Dyersburg, TN and Doyline, LA. She had a long career with South Central Bell where she was a manager. She remained in touch with many of her telephone friends.
In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Lou Woodard Rambin and Johnnie B. Rambin, sisters, Edith Norrid, Mary Kathryn Rambin, Jerri Moseley, and brother, Buford Rambin. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Loftin of Doyline, LA, grandson, Sean, brother, Andrew S. Rambin and nieces and nephews who she thought of as her children, Sandra Norrid, John Norrid and wife Lynell, Barbara Norrid Shaver and husband Rodney, and Jane Rambin Strahan who will miss her so much.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City with the Rev. George Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Koran Baptist Church Building Fund, 5158 Highway 527, Haughton, LA 71037.
