Cardarrious Ray rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing Lions past the Grambling Kittens 33-0 Friday night in Plain Dealing.
The Lions (6-3) close out the regular season with a District 1-1A game at Ringgold (1-8) Friday.
With a win, New Tech will likely head into the state playoffs seeded anywhere from 26 to 29.
The Lions had little trouble handling Grambling (2-6), racing to a 26-0 halftime lead.
Ray scored on runs of 6, 35 and 68 yards. Kaino had touchdown runs of 35 and 5 yards.
Deaumante Johnson passed for 94 yards and ran for 67. Tray Harris caught five passes for 58 yards.
The Lions had a 13-play TD drive in the second quarter.
“We got into a groove midway through the first quarter and ran the ball well,” New Tech coach Coy Brotherton said.
New Tech posted its second shutout of the season. Brotherton said linebackers Jamarrei Stromile, Logan Allen and Dre Thomas all had good games.
