HAUGHTON - Miller Williams was born in Longstreet, LA, July 16, 1916 to Hugh and Corinne Williams and passed away at his home in Haughton, LA, Thursday, October 4, 2012. He was a member of the Love Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. Alonzo Webb officiating. Interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams spent his youth in Vivian, LA and was a teenager when the Great Depression started. He never forgot watching his mother giving soup to hungry strangers that knocked on their door. A graduate of Vivian High School, he was grateful to find a job at Shoreline Oil Company. In the late thirties he joined Calumet Refinery, Princeton, LA, retiring in 1986 as Senior Vice President of Operations.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna Oliver Williams; brother, Hugh Williams; grandson, Trey Dyer and longtime friend, Fern Ramsey.
He is survived by three sons, Bob Williams of New Canaan, CT, Douglas Williams of Haughton, LA and Richard Williams of Princeton, LA; daughter, Brenda Grisham of Haughton, LA; brother, Robert Hiram Williams of Vacherie, LA; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Arnold, Eric Green, Noah Katz, Jay Lyons Eric Ockstat and Dustin Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Branch, P.S. Crews, Benny Ramsey, Dustin Arnold, Justin Arnold and Charles.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the Ramsey Family, Jerry and Karen Arnold and Eric and Kristen Ockstat for their help and love; also Dr. Ted Warren and caregivers, Janene West, Eric Green, Madison Katz and Debbie Richardson.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , Arthritis Foundation of the charity of one's choice.
