How long have you been cooking? About 61 years
How did you/What got you to start cooking? My mom worked so I would follow directions and start supper for the family. Make cornbread and desserts.
What's your favorite dish to cook? Divinity candy.
What do people say about your cooking? My son said the recipe was awesome and that I had done it again.
What's your philosophy when it comes to cooking? Keep costs down, don't be wasteful; make food as tasty as one can.
Anything you want to say to the public? Enjoy.

Joan shares her favorite recipe:

Ingredients:
13-16 Eckrich Sausage
3 T Canola Oil
3-4 medium Russet potatoes, diced
2-3 large carrots, sliced thin
large onion, sliced thin from top to bottom
green bell pepper, sliced thin from top to bottom
chunk pineapple, drained
cayenne pepper
black pepper
salt

Directions:
Slowly cook sausage in a non-stick skillet, dry grease from sausage and skillet.
Add canola oil and after hot, add potatoes and carrots. Turn and stir lightly.
When soft, add onion and bell pepper.
When tender, remove heat. Add pineapple.
Stir together.
