Harry R. Gregory, Sr.

BENTON - A memorial service celebrating the life of Harry R. Gregory, Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Overcoming Faith Church, 5140 Benton Road, Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Batchelor.

Harry was born July 18, 1935 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home after a lengthy illness. He was a faithful member of Overcoming Faith Church serving the Lord daily. Harry was an inspiration to all he met and will be missed dearly.He served his country proudly for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. Harry served as a fireman and an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician. He served in Greenland, Thailand, Korea, and Vietnam. After retirement, he was in maintenance at a shipyard in Galveston, TX and later was Supervisor of Grounds at Shreveport Regional Airport. Harry enjoyed playing golf and fishing, but coaching and umpiring girl's softball was rewarding to him.

His parents, David and Eva Gregory, preceded Harry in death. Loving memories will be shared by his wife of 52 years, Paula Rambin Gregory;sons, Harry R.Gregory, Jr. and wife, Deborah, Steven W. Gregory, and Tony L. Gregory; grandchildren, Harry R. Gregory III, Aimee Claxton, and Kristeen Menn; great grandchildren, Macy and Chance Gregory, Haylee and Caiden Claxton, Mallorie Pinckley, and Brennon Menn; brothers, Hardy M. Gregory and wife, Kathleen, and David B. Gregory and wife, Patsy; adopted family, Eddie, Suzanne, Meagan, and Maddie Tinsley; numerous nieces and nephews; and blessed with many friends.Memorials may be made to Overcoming Faith Church.
