Plain Dealing’s Lady Lions kept their perfect District 1-A basketball record intact Friday night with a 70-7 romp past Sarepta.
But it wasn’t Sarepta’s most one-sided loss last week. Tuesday night, the Lady Hornets dropped a 78-7 decision to Evangel, which is also unbeaten in District 1-A play.
First place in district standings probably will be decided Jan. 16, when Plain Dealing goes to Evangel.
Plain Dealing, now 14-6 for the season and 4-0 in district play, jumped off to a 23-1 lead in the first quarter and took a 37-5 lead into the halftime intermission.
April Osby led the Lady Lions with 17 points. Dorteaka Gill scored 12 points and Ebony Daniels added 11 points.
The Plain Dealing boys beat Sarepta 91-23 as Yondarius Johnson scored 13 points, John Ivy 12 and Anthony Thompson 11 for the Lions, now 15-6 for the season and 3-1 in District 1-A play. Views: 1239
