The Benton Lady Tigers defeated Southwood 13-2 in a non-dsitrict softball game Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season, 13-15, against Byrd.
Gabby Kespehler had a home run in the win over Southwood.
She also had a good game against Byrd at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Brittany Craig went 2-for-3 with a double.
The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the top of the third to take a 4-3 lead.
The Lady Jackets tied it with a run in the bottom of the inning and then scored three in the fourth to go up 7-4.
Benton cut the lead to two in the fifth, but Byrd blew the game open with four in the bottom of the inning.
Elsewhere, Parkway’s home game against Evangel was postponed until Monday because of wet grounds.
The Lady Panthers are scheduled to host Lakeside at 5 p.m. today as part of the North Webster tournament.
Haughton’s game against Cedar Creek was also postponed. The Lady Bucs (0-2) are scheduled to play Winnfield at the ULM Rec Center in Monroe tonight.
