Bossier Sheriff’s Office provides handgun safety training

E-mail Print PDF

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is offering a Handgun Safety and Familiarization class on March 5 for residents of Bossier Parish.

The class will run from 6-9 p.m. at the Viking Drive Substation at 2510 Viking Drive in Bossier City.  This will not be a shooting class, but rather will familiarize you with how to safely handle your individual handgun.  You may bring your own handgun to the class, but it’s not required for attendance.  However, ensure your weapon is unloaded, and do not bring any ammunition.

“As a strong supporter of the entire 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms, I want our citizens to know how to safely operate and maintain their own handguns,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.

The class is limited to 30 persons, offered free of charge and is open to Bossier residents 21 years of age and older. Call the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy at 965-3525 to register.
