A Bossier City man received non-life threatening injuries after he reportedly walked into the side of a moving train overnight.

Bossier City police and fire personnel were called to the train tracks that run between the Horseshoe Casino and the Louisiana Boardwalk at approximately 1 a.m. today in reference to an accident involving a train and a pedestrian. According to the train’s engineer, the Kansas City Southern train was traveling westbound when a man, later identified as Kenneth Ray Thomas, 52, of Bossier City stepped into the side of the lead engine while attempting to cross the tracks. An investigation by Bossier City Police indicates the train was traveling at about 10 miles an hour at the time.

Thomas sustained an arm injury and was taken to LSU Health Center in Shreveport by Bossier City Fire Department personnel. Thomas was issued a citation for trespassing.
