DA to BSO Check PresentationThe Bossier/Webster District Attorney’s Office presented a check this week to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $5,527.84 from property received as a result of multiple drug investigations over the past several months.

District Attorney Schuyler Marvin gave the monies to Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington, funds which represent 60 percent of the vehicles, other property, monies and bank accounts that were seized in eight different narcotics cases.  The district attorney’s office receives 20% of the total asset funds, while the remaining 20% goes to the Bossier Parish Criminal Court Fund.

“The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to do a remarkable job of interrupting the flow of drugs in our communities,” said Marvin.

In October last year, Sheriff Whittington and Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams joined forces to develop the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force to combat illegal drug activity all throughout Bossier Parish.

“The combined efforts of our narcotics teams is a strong example of our commitment to keep drugs off of our streets and away from our children,” said Whittington.  “The funds received today will be used to help booster that fight.”
