The Benton Lady Tigers will be going for their third straight Class 4A state championship at the LHSAA cross country state meet Tuesday at Northwestern State University.
The Benton boys finished fourth last year and should contend for the title this year.
Parkway coach Kent Falting said his girls team has a shot at the Class 5A title and the boys could finish high, too. Last year, both Parkway teams finished sixth.
Individually, Parkway’s Alison Ringle will be among the favorites for the Class 5A girls title. Benton’s Katie McKay finished fourth in 4A last year and should contend again. Airline’s Jack Wilkes and Matt Henry will look for high finishes in 5A boys.
