Seventeen neighborhoods are hosting National Night Out block parties on Tuesday evening all throughout Bossier Parish.

"This is a night for residents to meet with their neighbors and get to know the deputies who patrol thier areas," said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. "There are events planned for Plain Dealing down to south Bossier, and I encourage neighbors to come out and spend an evening with each other, law enforcement officers and firefighters."

Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office, along with Bossier City Police Department, Shreveport Police Department and Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, moved their National Night Out events to October in order to enjoy the event during the cooler weather.
