Chicken and Dumplings (large serving)
Ingredients:
Chicken —
10 lbs. chicken
1/2 cup of cooking oil
6 cans of broth
1 tbsp. crushed garlic
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 lb. of real butter
Dough —
5 lbs. all purpose flour
2 tbsp. salt
1/2 cup of cooking oil
cup of cold water
Directions:
Cook chicken with oil. Add salt to taste.
Remove skin and bones, strain broth.
Add six cans of broth, garlic, onion, celery, buttter.
Add chicken, bring to a boil.
Mix flour into large bolw, add salt and cooking oil.
Mix with hand with cup of ice col water, half-a-cup at a time.
Mix until sticks together
Use pastry sheet to roll dough out.
Cut in to strips and drop into broth.
Simmer for 30 minutes or until dough is cooked.
