George Edward ClarkBossier City police have arrested a local man for a home invasion last month that left a man injured.

Patrol officers arrested George Edward Clark Jr., age 51, last night at his residence in the 2500 block of Convent Street after detectives secured a warrant for his arrest.

Clark was arrested for allegedly forcing his way into a home in the 2400 block of Trichel Street on Aug. 24 while armed with a firearm and assaulting a man by striking him in the head with the weapon. Clark also discharged the firearm during the incident. No one was struck by the gunshot.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening head wound he sustained from being struck with the weapon. Police believe the assault stemmed from a verbal altercation earlier that day at the residence between Clark and the victim.

Clark was booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of home invasion and was subsequently transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. Bond is set at $50,000.
